Summer Project Review

I think that my summer EPQ research went well. The project plan really helped me in being organised. The first few weeks went smoothly in terms of doing my EPQ and I was organised with my project. I'm really glad that I was able to contact Miss Evangelista and do an interview with her. I found that her answers were really helpful. I also found some websites and other sources that I can to help me in designing book covers. At the very beginning of my project plan, I intended to create designs of how I wanted my book covers to look like. However, I thought that I should leave this at the end after I have gained more information about my target audience and on designing book cover in general. Instead, I just put down that main key elements, themes and images that I thought were important to the book.

I was a bit disappointed with that I was not able to get 50 participants to do my survey. However, I think that 38 participants is a good enough sample. Also, during the last few weeks of summer I slacked off a bit in doing my other college homework. For example, I left my Fine Art and Film homework to do in the last few weeks of summer. I underestimated my homework for both subjects as I thought they would not take long to complete. In the end, I did not have time to find and read new books to use for my project. My plan now is when I come back to college I will ask my English teachers or college Librarian to recommend me classic dystopian novels that I can use.

My next steps will be doing things on my project plan that I have not yet completed. Also, I will start re-designing book covers, brainstorming ideas and experimenting with different tools and materials.
